About the Role

A national lender with a focus on small business financing is looking to add a commercial lending professional to its team. This role centers on helping businesses find the right financial solutions—spanning small business and asset-based credit—by managing relationships and guiding loans from inquiry to completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Connect with small business owners and build relationships through referrals, industry connections, and brokers.
  • Structure financing for a variety of needs, including real estate, equipment, working capital, or acquisitions.
  • Manage deals from first conversation through closing—working closely with internal teams to support due diligence and documentation.
  • Collaborate across teams to support outreach and align strategy with market trends.
  • Track pipeline activity, document engagement, and report progress using internal tools and systems.
  • Maintain an understanding of borrower needs and regional market dynamics.

Skills & Experience

  • Experience with business credit solutions, ideally including SBA, USDA, and/or asset-based lending.
  • Background in small business finance, underwriting, or credit analysis.
  • Familiarity with structuring deals and reviewing financial documents.
  • A track record of independently sourcing and managing commercial financing relationships.
  • Clear communication skills—both written and verbal—with an emphasis on client understanding.
  • Comfort working remotely and managing time independently.
  • Knowledge of tools like Salesforce is a plus.

Ideal Background

  • At least five years in financial services, lending, or a related field.
  • Previous success managing a pipeline of loan originations in the $20M+ annual range (preferred).
  • Bachelor’s degree or comparable professional experience.
