Position Overview

Are you an experienced engineer with a passion for improving equipment reliability and leading maintenance excellence?

A leading specialty metals manufacturer is seeking a Preventive Maintenance Engineer to help drive its company-wide Reliability Program—focusing on uptime, efficiency, and continuous improvement across its advanced steelmaking operations.

In this role, you’ll oversee the site’s Asset Reliability Management Program (ARMP), ensuring critical systems and equipment are maintained to the highest operational standards. You’ll provide leadership to the CMMS Coordinator and Reliability Engineer, manage key preventive maintenance initiatives, and collaborate with corporate engineering to advance best practices in reliability-centered maintenance across multiple sites.

About the Facility

This operation is a state-of-the-art specialty steel production facility, manufacturing nickel alloy, stainless steel, and low-alloy grades through advanced melting and remelting technologies such as Vacuum Induction Melting (VIM), Electro-Slag Remelting (ESR), and Vacuum-Arc Remelting (VAR).

The site also includes a bar finishing shop with an SMX 650 Radial Forge, thermal processing systems, non-destructive testing capabilities, and an accredited Nadcap-certified metallurgical laboratory. These advanced capabilities support the production of high-integrity materials used in aerospace, energy, and other critical industrial markets—cementing the facility’s role as a cornerstone of the company’s global operations.

  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Experience with IBM Maximo Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) platform strongly preferred.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple initiatives, analyze performance data, and drive measurable reliability improvements.
