Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Remote Payroll Specialist to manage and process employee payroll accurately and on time. The ideal candidate will have experience with payroll systems, tax regulations, benefits deductions, and compliance requirements. This role requires strong analytical skills, confidentiality, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Process weekly, biweekly, semi-monthly, or monthly payroll for employees.
  2. Ensure accurate calculation of wages, overtime, bonuses, commissions, and deductions.
  3. Maintain employee payroll records and update information as needed.
  4. Review timesheets and attendance records for accuracy.
  5. Administer payroll-related deductions, including taxes, benefits, garnishments, and retirement contributions.
  6. Prepare and file payroll tax reports and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  7. Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve payroll discrepancies.
  8. Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, taxes, and compensation.
  9. Generate payroll reports for management, accounting, and auditing purposes.
  10. Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure accurate employee data and compensation changes.
  11. Support payroll audits and maintain compliance with company policies and labor laws.
  12. Stay current with payroll regulations and best practices.

Required Qualifications

  1. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field preferred.
  2. 2+ years of payroll processing experience.
  3. Knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
  4. Experience with payroll software and HRIS systems.
  5. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  6. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  7. Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  8. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  9. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification.
  2. Experience processing multi-state payroll.
  3. Familiarity with remote workforce payroll administration.
