Qualifications

Required

1. Master’s degree or higher in Nursing
2. At least 1 year of experience in primary care
3. At least 1 year of experience in care management
4. At least 1 year of experience in one or more of the following:
5. Correctional care
6. Correctional medicine
7. Valid Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration
8. Current license/certification as one of the following:
9. Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)
10. Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner (AGNP)
11. Nurse Practitioner (NP)
12. Current certification in one or more of the following:
13. American Red Cross Basic Life Support (ARC BLS)
14. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS)
15. American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (AHA ACLS)

Position Overview

This role provides an opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner to deliver comprehensive primary care to incarcerated individuals in a structured clinical environment. The provider will evaluate and treat acute and chronic medical conditions, manage ongoing care, collaborate with healthcare and facility staff, and support high-quality patient outcomes within a correctional healthcare setting.

Key Responsibilities

1. Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations
2. Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions
3. Provide sick-call coverage and same-day medical evaluations
4. Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans
5. Educate patients on medications, disease management, preventive healthcare, and healthy lifestyle practices
6. Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) system
7. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and facility staff to coordinate and deliver quality patient care
8. Follow applicable clinical, safety, regulatory, and correctional healthcare standards

Schedule and Shift Details

1. Four-day work week
2. Day shift
3. No weekends
4. Standard holiday schedule

Travel

1. Travel stipends are available for providers traveling more than 50 miles from their primary residence
