Medical Director – Infectious Disease

St. Augustine, Florida | Direct Hire | Outpatient

Caduceus Medical Recruitment is seeking an experienced Infectious Disease Physician for a Medical Director opportunity with a well-established outpatient healthcare organization in St. Augustine, Florida.

This position combines clinical practice with physician leadership in a fully staffed outpatient setting and offers a strong compensation package, productivity incentives, and no routine nights or weekends.

Compensation & Incentives

1. $250,000–$290,000 compensation before productivity bonus
2. Base salary plus sign-on bonus

Practice & Schedule

1. Outpatient clinical setting in St. Augustine, FL
2. Approximately 14–18 patients per day
3. No routine nights or weekends
4. 4 hours of protected administrative time each week for full-time physicians
5. Supported by nursing, care coordination, front-desk, and advanced-practice staff
6. After-hours call coverage shared/as assigned

Clinical & Leadership Responsibilities

1. Provide comprehensive outpatient care, including management of infectious disease, HIV/STIs, chronic disease, and acute medical conditions
2. Review laboratory, imaging, and consultant findings and coordinate appropriate follow-up
3. Maintain timely clinical documentation and prescription renewals
4. Collaborate with the multidisciplinary care team to accommodate urgent and walk-in patients
5. Provide clinical oversight and supervision of NPs and PAs, including required chart review/auditing
6. Participate in patient retention, quality, and clinic performance initiatives
7. Maintain appropriate productivity and quality-of-care standards

Qualifications

1. MD or DO
2. Infectious Disease physician experience required
3. Active and unrestricted state-appropriate medical license
4. Valid DEA registration and required prescribing/furnishing authority
5. Outpatient clinical experience
6. Comfortable managing approximately 14–18 patients per day
7. Current CPR/BLS certification
8. Board certification preferred
9. Strong clinical judgment, communication, documentation, and leadership skills
