A leading specialty metals manufacturer is seeking a Reliability Engineer to support its growing Reliability Program—driving improvements in asset dependability, safety, and operational excellence at its Dunkirk, NY facility.

In this role, you’ll play a key part in enhancing plant reliability through equipment analysis, preventive maintenance initiatives, and performance improvements. You’ll collaborate across maintenance, engineering, and operations to advance reliability-centered maintenance practices and ensure sustained production efficiency in a dynamic, world-class manufacturing environment.


About the Facility


The Dunkirk facility is a high-performance finishing operation and a key part of the company’s specialty steel production network. The site:

  • Produces premium stainless steel and specialty alloy products through hot rolling, heat treating, and finishing processes.
  • Houses advanced billet and bar processing equipment, supporting both semi-finished and finished long products.
  • Plays a vital role in providing high-quality materials to demanding industries, including aerospace, power generation, oil & gas, and heavy equipment.
  • Maintains industry-leading certifications and quality standards while emphasizing safety, innovation, and continuous improvement across operations.


Requirements & Responsibilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering field required.
  • 5+ years of heavy industrial or manufacturing experience; steelmaking or metals processing preferred.
  • Proven experience implementing Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) programs.
  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Experience with IBM Maximo Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) platform strongly preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Strong commitment to safety, precision, and continuous improvement.
