Role Summary

Seeking an Employment Associate with at least 3+ years of employment law experience to join its San Diego office. The associate will handle a mix of litigation and counseling work, including discrimination claims, wage and hour matters, non-compete and contract disputes, employer investigations, policy drafting, and compliance training. The role requires strong communication skills, technical proficiency, and the ability to collaborate with team members in a hybrid in-office environment.

 

Core Responsibilities

• Litigate employment matters in state and federal courts and before administrative agencies

• Advise employers on day-to-day HR and compliance issues

• Draft employment-related documents including:

– Employee handbooks

– Employment agreements

– Separation agreements

– Workplace policies

• Conduct workplace investigations

• Provide employment-related compliance training

• Participate in case strategy, discovery, motion practice, and client meetings

• Collaborate with team members in accordance with the firm’s 60% onsite expectation

 

Must-Have Qualifications

• COVER LETTER REQUIRED

• JD or LLM from an ABA-accredited law school

Admitted or eligible for admission in California

3+ years of employment law experience

• Experience litigating employment matters before state & federal courts and administrative agencies

• Experience advising employers on compliance and HR-related issues

• Experience drafting employment policies and agreements

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

• Ability to collaborate effectively in team settings

 

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience conducting complex workplace investigations

• Experience delivering compliance trainings

• Ability to manage multiple matters with minimal supervision
