As a Locum Emergency Medicine Physician, you will provide high-quality emergency medical care to patients in hospital emergency departments while collaborating with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure exceptional patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

1. Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients presenting with acute illnesses and injuries.
2. Perform emergency medical procedures appropriate to patient needs.
3. Stabilize critically ill and injured patients.
4. Order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging studies, and other diagnostic procedures.
5. Coordinate patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
6. Collaborate with consulting physicians and hospital staff.
7. Complete accurate and timely medical documentation.
8. Follow hospital policies, clinical protocols, and quality standards.
9. Maintain compliance with state licensing requirements and credentialing standards.

Qualifications

1. MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
2. Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine (ABEM or AOBEM preferred).
3. Active, unrestricted medical license (or willingness to obtain additional state licenses).
4. DEA registration.
5. Current ACLS, ATLS (where required), BLS, and PALS certifications as applicable.
6. Excellent clinical judgment and communication skills.
7. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced emergency department.

Preferred Experience

1. Prior Emergency Department experience.
2. Experience working in community hospitals, trauma centers, or freestanding emergency departments.
3. Familiarity with various electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
4. Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) eligibility is a plus.
