It’s a position with visibility and influence across operations, business development, and client strategy. You’ll guide the preconstruction process from concept to contract, support and mentor estimating staff, and help position the company for intelligent, scalable growth.


This is a hybrid role, but does require relocation to the company's headquarters in Tennessee. The company will pay for relocation.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Preparing conceptual and detailed cost estimates, quantity takeoffs, and bid packages
  • Reviewing drawings, specifications, and technical documents for accuracy and feasibility
  • Developing preliminary project schedules and coordinating closely with project managers
  • Managing subcontractor and supplier outreach, bid collection, and scope analysis
  • Conducting site visits, pre-bid meetings, and internal hand-off sessions
  • Performing value engineering reviews and risk assessments to improve competitiveness
  • Engaging directly with clients, designers, and business development teams
  • Representing the firm in industry- and client-facing activities
  • Supporting and mentoring junior estimators and managing self-perform estimates
  • Staying current on market pricing, escalation trends, and trade coverage gaps


What You Bring

  • 5+ years of experience in Commercial Construction Estimating, Preconstruction, or related project management role
  • Strong knowledge of cost estimating, scheduling, constructability, and subcontractor trades
  • Experience working across multiple delivery methods and design stages
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 1+ years of field experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Ability to analyze complex documents, present strategic options, and communicate clearly


Nice to Have

  • Planswift and Procore experience
  • A mentorship mindset with a track record of supporting junior team members
